Associate Board Member Application (2016-2017)

Keep Cobb Beautiful (KCB) is pleased to once again offer the students of Cobb County
an opportunity to participate in our Associate Board Member (ABM) program. As an ABM
you will learn the benefits of working with a non-profit organization entrusted to educate,
beautify, and enhance our community. This program will allow you to participate at a higher
level within a community organization, help with our various events, and assist volunteers in
making positive impacts within Cobb County. These benefits translate to school-wide
opportunities, building community service hours, and is an excellent highlight on your college
resume.

As an Associate Board Member, you will be required to sit on KCB’s Board, participate
within various committees, attend KCB events, create and or lead a school or community
project, and represent Keep Cobb Beautiful at luncheons and ceremonies. Associate
Board Members will assist with outreach to local civic groups and schools. ABM’s will also
have the opportunity for college scholarships that will be awarded to our top achievers and
engaged members who have accrued a minimum of 40 hours either directly from KCB
events and programs, or school related programs that align with the KCB mission.
The following criteria must be met for selection in to the Associate Board Member
program:

• A current Cobb County resident and student (High School Junior or Senior or, attend
a College in Cobb County)
• At least 16 years old at the time of application
• Have an active interest in the environment or community service
• The ability to commit to KCB Program by attending our monthly board meetings
participating in at least one event per month, and completing a school or community
project.
• You will be required to provide a brief (1 paragraph) report describing any
environmentally relate programs that have occurred at your school since the last
meeting, or progress report on your project.
• Ability to commit for the duration of your term (October thru May)
• Ability to interact with local politicians, legislators or other community leaders
• Ability to represent Keep Cobb Beautiful at public functions
• Not be affiliated with any radical, anarchist or militant organizations or hate groups
• Not overly committed with other programs and activities
